It was on a severely cold night in the early 70’s, on the barren plateau of Abisko in Sweden’s far north that Åke Nordin, founder of Fjällräven, decided that he never wanted to feel cold again. As a result, he created the remarkably insulating Expedition Down Jacket.

Many cold winters have passed since Åke´s dreadful night out in Lapland, but the Expedition Series´ promise that you will never feel cold again still applies. See you out here.

Heritage meets Sustainability

Development of the new Expedition Series is grounded in the proven functionality of the original jacket from 1974. Shell material and inner lining in the new series are made of 100% recycled nylon.

The insulating down we use today is guaranteed to be 100% traceable, ethically produced and of the highest quality. Using thoughtful Swedish design and construction make it easier to repair each garment, if needed.
